My name is Bernalene, a 34-year-old wife and a mother of 1 from the Philippines.

Being a mom is challenging, but seeing your child grow with the values you instill is rewarding. A mother is willing to give and give up everything for the sake of their kids even their career. As a mom, we want the best for our kids which is our utmost priority. After almost 7 years of working in the corporate world, my husband and I decided to quit our jobs abroad. It is our prerogative. I must admit at first I find it upsetting but after a while, it is fulfilling. As an OFW, we can provide for our daughter's needs but behind all those material things are the longings and the desires that somehow after those tiring days at work, we will see our daughter and hug her tight.

Our day does not just end by saying good night with our child and before we sleep, our prayers and hopes is a bright future for her. On top of my mind are questions like, can we afford college for our kids, and how about our retirement?

Starting a VA business is so scary. Putting yourself out there can be intimidating and hard. I felt like I wasn’t worthy to be paid what most people could do themselves. I slowly learned that even though business owners can do the work themselves, they just don’t have the time to do all the tasks it takes to run a growing business. When I realized that I was helping them with their to-do lists and not needing to know more than most of the time, then I felt a bit better.

Working at home as a virtual assistant is the most attractive option. But like me at the beginning, most moms don't know where to start or how to get clients and then there's contracts and invoices, etc. It's enough to make a steady mom dizzy trying to figure out how to start and where to go.

So, I started my freelance job hunting online. But the competition is tough and some employers were shaming "newbies". How am I going to win the battle? Going there barehanded will just make a fool out of myself. In the virtual world, a particular set of skills is worthless, it must be complete. How are you going to compete with millions across the globe?

So here comes, The Filipino Virtual Assistance and saved my day! I enrolled in the academy through Facebook ads and as of now, I am still refining skills and as a freelancer with the help of Coach Maricel Beaumia. I also learned a lot from the academy's online modules. I have to be competent and I am doing this for my daughter. I know that after the battle, I will savor my victory.

So to the newbies out there, equip and hone your skills. Be resourceful enough and find a lot of helpful videos from youtube. We just need advice and guidance from an expert. This is going to be our edge as newbies. It is the least that we could do, so give yourself a favor. And besides, we can learn our skills but be smart is another thing but having both rocks!

The competition is tough, indeed very tough. Our mindset must be towards our goal.

Enroll with the Filipino Virtual Assistance they have great deals. Learn it the hard way and do not stop learning! Tons of success stories are out there, who knows we might be sharing our success one of these days.

Thanks!

Mom Hugs!

Bernalene
